There I was all excited about going to La Scala, opera was one I think I have seen before, after last night I know why I cannot remember it!!!

The girl from the west, also has a long Italian name is basically a male chorus with female soloist…
The set was dismal, they must have spent all their budgets years ago with Zeffirelli’s Aidia…

MY very expensive seat had a pillar about a third of the way across my view..  At least I could see the stage not like the Albert hall..

Two spare seats beside me..a well dressed older man sits down and beckons to a younger one who promptly almost pushes me out of my seat, big!!!

Shortly after, Mr well dressed gets the push as a young woman comes along and wants HER seat… The big guy stays…

First interval, Mr Big goes…yeah, spread out onto his seat, as does the young woman, she said he fell sleep.

I was vaguely aware of a number of people standing behind me during Act 1.

Just before act 2 started a man asks if the seat next to me is vacant, I say No and he goes and stands at the back with all the other cruisers…

I realise that tickets were not really checked so they just walk in…and hope for a seat…

Quite a young man hovered beside me all of act 2, not quite brave enough to push me along, I sat across mine and the next seat as did my young woman…
Imagine no checking in other opera houses..no checking of bags either…
