Morning was a bit damp looking and because Pont St Martin is up in the mountains it was also a bit chilly.
However once down a bit from St Martin it was still a bit damp, not enough for wet weather gear, just damp..but eventually the damp disappeared!
Wore the new light down jacket which also doubles as a feather pillow when encased in a pillowcase..most successful. Today was also most successful ,beautiful scenery and a decent walk though some scary descents on rocky paths…
Not a soul around so that was success as well… Even found a coffee shop…
Did just over 23km ..legs a bit vengeful.
Biggest surprise was Montalto castle, huge, plus know Montalto as an area in Canterbury… always forget its Italian origins..
Ivrea is todays destination, it is the town made famous by Olivetti typewriters. I am in a fancy little B and B in the Olivetti room…..
Tonights meal was a deli special, stuffed zucchini, seafood salad and a huge slice of beautiful roast veal…plus vino…get the deli to take out the cork…
Today saw loads of yummy rhodos and azaleas in gardens, plus usual wild flowers and solomons seal which I have not seen in the wild before.
Great start…know there is some boring stuff to come in the rice growing areas but a few days off..
