But first you have to find the stop….
Anyway, last night was sort of four star luxe, had the fluffy dressing gowns but also had the curtain off the rail and right snotty little gits in the restaurant. full of men of course, Richard branson look a likes at the trough.
my first choice was not available so had pig cheeks, must have been a bloody great pig as opposed to the little sucker the other night. over pork…..
argued about the bill i won!!! problem with these hotels there are no other scruffy walkers, but then again there are not many of those anyway…
Five thousand are walking to Fatima’s town. but they stopped appearing after coimbra.
Blue arrows for her and yellow for Santiago.
Anyway finally found the bus stop this am and four hours later was doing the waltz of the rooms in porto. First room shown had a small window at ground level and one that had steps up to it, nada, next room was almost on the street, finally a decent one, always took three at home…can hear my neighbours so thin walls, three stars this time,
hotel is in the historic area i have another one tomorrow. god knows why!!!i was so glad i caught the bus as it was pretty much built up all the way. i was supposed to be ferried back to walk the last bit tomorrow but am going on an expensive all day river trip up the Douro River. odd being here where t and i had such a nice time …
next day i officially have off, so will have had almost three days, needed it as i am pretty tired.
just arrived in porto and a young woman stamps past me with a pack on. upshot, started to chat, she had a greenstone pendant on…Born in Germany, lives in Auckland and walking from here. Quite young, husband died two years ago…Anyway we did the air kiss and away we went in different directions, i even found the hotel…
oh, yes, no dinner organised initially, after a suitably worded email it was quickly organised….across the road. The agency have used this hotel for years so you would think they would know….
Oh yes, four euro to get, here today, would have spent that on coffee along the way. Great coffee and pastries, so good for cholestrol and heart disease with all that pork.
PS I have just had the best meal…..two big chunks of octopus, served on spinach on of course potato, but the octopus was so tender…yaeh, a good meal,…
